Almost ten years since its debut, Tamagotchi is a name still able to rack in the big bucks. With massive sales figures (particularly in Japan), DS’s Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop not only earned itself a sequel, but is now getting a spin-off title for Wii.

Tamagotchi no Pika Pkia Daityouryou! goes with a new board game theme, where virtual pet owners will work to get enough ratings to get their Tamagotchi elected as president of Planet Tamagotchi. Ratings are earned by crossing certain sections of the board, and at the end of the game, the player/pet with the highest ratings earns themselves the presidency.

No other details, such as game mechanics or Wii-mote support, have been given as of now.
